Sheila Rance

I was born and grew up by the sea, which is probably why Maia’s adventures in Sun Catcher start among the Cliff Dwellers who live at the edge of the ocean. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t scribbling or dreaming up stories. I started writing Sun Catcher while studying for an MA at Bath Spa University, and it won the United Agents’ Prize for the most promising writer on the course
in my final year.

I live with my family in a village on the edge of the Sussex Downs. When I’m not writing, I can be found in a nearby comprehensive school, helping children find their own stories.
